My Background
Personal Profile
I am an agricultural and environmental economist who studies how social inequities, ecological processes, and new technologies shape farmers’ exposure to and resilience against environmental risk. My research combines spatial econometrics, bioeconomic modeling, and survey methods to explore issues ranging from racial disparities in crop insurance to gendered climate risk strategies to the ecological and economic value of mycorrhizal fungi. Ultimately, my goal is to produce work that advances scholarly debates while also informing policies and practices that promote equity, sustainability, and climate change adaptation. I bring the same commitments to the classroom, where I emphasize collaborative, student-centered learning that builds confidence, data literacy, and interdisciplinary thinking. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, listening to podcasts, knitting, and travel.

Research takes many forms, but it often starts with coffee!
